This 8" x 10" oil painting on cradled wood panel is the first in an ongoing series exploring animal headdresses as a lens for identity, instinct, and transformation.

Each piece in the series approaches the subject as a study, an opportunity to observe the subtle overlap between human expression and animal presence. In this painting, the barn owl becomes both a physical form and a quiet extension of the figure beneath it.
